And no he’s not “What’s for Dinner”.

*** UPDATE ***

Well I built him is new 8×5 area to run around in and his old cage is in the middle for him to hang out in, eat and such.  He’s got 4 litter boxes around the outside which he seems to have choosen the one he likes to use but I’m leaving the others because he likes to lay in them.

But what does this mean for the webcam…well pretty much it’s dead for now.  The 2 cams I have are not really that great.  They can’t focus on the whole area he is in so it’s pretty much blurry for a majority of the area.  I had one on the cage area but he lies to hang out more under the cage then in the cage.  He pretty much only goes in the cage to sleep, eat and drink.  So till I got a better camera that could focus on the whole area it’s down.  Don’t expect that anytime in the near future.

*** UPDATE ***

My wonderful wife got me him as a present for christmas.  Her Christmas present was a new camera which she hasn’t taken any pictures off yet.  Then it hit me why not bust out my cheap webcams I picked up a while ago and never used to stream him live on the net.

There was 2 cams in the set so now I think i’ll try to work them into the the cage  :)  Will probably have to put VNC on the box so I can switch the cameras.  Pretty interesting overall though.  May have to tech it out with some hobby servos and such.

Supersmokers in St Louis, MO

October 13th, 2008 | Posted by ripsup in BBQ | Reviews - (2 Comments)

Had the chance on my way back from Springfield, MO to hit Supersmokers over by St Louis, MO (says St Louis on their website but a Yahoo Maps search seems to say it’s Eureka.)  After finally figuring out where it actually was I went in and the lady behind the counter was very helpful with what they were known for and what to get. Just by looking around you can see they have competed and won a lot (listed here) of different competitions.

Bandana’s – Springfield, MO

October 10th, 2008 | Posted by ripsup in BBQ | Reviews - (4 Comments)

Well I’m at the HighEdWeb conference in Springfield, MO and was looking for a place to eat some BBQ. Was going to hit Granddaddy’s which is downtown but caught wind it was closed on Monday’s (UPDATE – Tried to go to it that Tuesday as well and it was also closed, not sure what was up with that because they actually advertised at the conference) so hit up another place named Trolley’s which was a cool place, food was a bit higher then it was but can’t beat buck a mug deals. :)

So today for lunch decided to drive around and found a place named Bandana’s.

Wow and hopefully more soon :)

I’m amazed that 2 different real people, what atleast looks to be not direct spam :) , found the site when I haven’t even started using it yet or even posting about it anywhere.

Unfortunately it’s been a crazy summer so I haven’t been able to put the time towards this I had hoped to.  Still haven’t even changed out the default template yet.  :)

On a positive note I made som Pulled Pork this weekend that turned out pretty good, decent smoke ring on though I didn’t have time to let the rub really sit on it before cooking though the outside was still quite tasty.  I wish I took some pics of it but eating was all that was on my mind when it finally was done so it was demolished pretty quickly.  I have some left over that I plan to throw in a Brunswick stew that I love making.  I’ll have to put my recipe for that out here in the future.

Also need to get back to work on my smoker ideas but those are probably still farther off till I have some time to really lay out the end goals with that.

Well, hope to have more soon.

Got to love the SPAM

So I set up the site a few days ago and I have already had spam to it.  I didn’t figure the search engines would even have this yet since I hadn’t published it anywhere yet but it was already in google, though that may have come from me trying to add the feed from this site to google reader.  Lots of fun either way.  Mostly adding this to see if my feed starts to work in google reader.

Hello all, not that anyone will see this, but the site is now live. Basically the plan is to blog about 2 of my favorite pastimes, Barbecue and Fireworks. Working on a theme for WordPress right now for it and will hopefully have that up soon with other stuff.

Hope to see you all soon,

Richard
